Lakewood’s Chinuch System Is at a Breaking Point.
Help Us Build a Smarter Response.
Our mosdos can’t keep up with the extraordinary growth of the community — and families are paying the price. Together, we can plan ahead, reduce stress, and build solutions.
If you're applying to a school or cheder for the first time for the 2026–2027 school year, please take 2 minutes to fill out this short, confidential form.
The Challenge
B”H, our community is growing at an extraordinary pace. But the mosdos simply haven’t been able to grow fast enough to match the demand.
As much as schools try — and they do try — there just isn’t enough space. This is no one’s fault. It’s a reality. And it’s creating stress, uncertainty, and heartbreak for too many families.
What’s Changing — and Why
B”H, our community is growing at an extraordinary pace. But the mosdos simply haven’t been able to grow fast enough to match the demand.
As much as schools try — and they do try — there just isn’t enough space. This is no one’s fault. It’s a reality. And it’s creating stress, uncertainty, and heartbreak for too many families.
We’re collecting information now so we can help solve placement issues before they become crises.
This is not a school application
This does not commit you to any school
It does not affect your chances in any way
It will help us plan, support, and build solutions that work
All responses are confidential. All we ask is for basic details — your child’s current age, whether it’s a boy or girl, and your top three schools in order of preference.
Why This Form Matters
How This Data Will Be Used
With a clearer picture of demand, we can:
Help schools prepare earlier
Expand or open new classes
Support new mosdos with the full backing of askanim and funders
Ease pressure on families
Prevent unnecessary stress and heartbreak
Applying to school shouldn’t be a painful experience. But right now, for too many, it is. Let’s fix that — together.
ABOUT THE LAKEWOOD VAAD
The Lakewood Mosdos Initiative was created to make sure no child is left behind simply because there isn’t enough space in our mosdos.
As the community continues to grow at an extraordinary pace, the initiative works to ease the pressure on families and strengthen the Chinuch system by supporting practical, scalable solutions — from expanding existing classes to launching new ones, stabilizing newer mosdos, and building long-term infrastructure to meet future demand.
This effort is backed by the leading Rabbanim of Lakewood and guided by their hadracha every step of the way.
A core part of our strategy is being data-driven. By collecting and analyzing information early, we’re able to plan ahead, guide resources to where they’re most needed, and help more children — faster, and more effectively.
This work is carried out with care, discretion, and an unwavering commitment to every child’s right to a strong Chinuch.
